Job Overview :
InVitro Capital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data and ML Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data infrastructure while crafting and operationalizing advanced data models and feature stores for production ML workflows. You'll partner closely with engineers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable ETL pipelines, canonical schemas, and decision-critical data products. This role combines deep analytical rigor with hands-on engineering to power strategic insights and actionable intelligence.
Work setup : Mondays to Fridays, Pacific Time Zone. This is a hybrid position; team members are expected to work from our Cairo office at least once a week for in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and build scalable data pipelines — develop robust ETL / ELT workflows for batch and real-time data processing using modern orchestration tools and cloud-native services
- Build and deploy AI / ML infrastructure — create feature stores, model serving pipelines, and MLOps workflows that support production AI applications at scale
- Operate multi-cloud data platform — monitor batch and streaming jobs, troubleshoot incidents, and uphold freshness SLAs across AWS, Azure & GCP
- Build and evolve enterprise data lake — define zone layouts, choose cloud-native object stores, and enforce governance for discoverable, cost-efficient data
- Model core business entities — design canonical schemas and lakehouse tables that unify operational and analytical workloads
- Deliver analytical and AI value — write and optimize complex SQL to produce metrics, cohorts, and features for AI services; apply statistical analysis and mathematical modeling to validate data quality and guide stakeholders with clear data stories
- Ensure compliance and quality — implement data-classification, retention, masking, and access-control policies; embed tests, data versioning, and end-to-end lineage
- Mentor and advise — benchmark new cloud services, coach engineers on analytic best practices, and drive architectural decisions that balance cost, latency, and compliance
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
7+ years in data engineering, ML engineering, or AI engineering with advanced Python and analytical SQL expertiseStrong mathematical and analytical foundation — proficiency in statistics, linear algebra, and quantitative analysis with ability to validate model assumptions and interpret complex data patternsDemonstrated success building or operating data lakes and lakehouses on at least two public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Production experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect) and data processing frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Flink)Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) and streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub / Sub)AI / ML infrastructure experience — proven ability to build feature stores, model serving pipelines, and MLOps workflows for production AI applicationsDeep knowledge of dimensional or data-vault modeling and large-scale ETL / ELT designHands-on experience designing folder / partition strategies and enforcing data-privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA or similar)Excellent communication skills plus a track record of technical leadership and mentoringPreferred Qualifications :
