The Senior Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance support of a full range of X-RAY screening systems in Egypt & Africa.

The Senior FSE will also support in developing team skills, knowledge, processes, and tools providing both service and user support, the role holder will require excellent focus to diagnose customer problems, along with good communication skills with both customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, commissioning and service support of Rapiscan’s X-ray and Trace systems in Egypt & Africa.
  • Supports in distributing information to team members and request permission from stakeholders to complete planned work.
  • Supports team leader in Ensuring all planned maintenance visits are completed per calendar month.
  • Supports team leader in Ordering, install, and return parts per regulation.
  • Carry out service site surveys prior to installations and professional site reports.
  • Fitting, system diagnosis, troubleshooting and fault finding on Detection systems & sub systems, carrying out the repair, maintenance and overhaul as necessary elements of Detection systems and escalation for rectification of system issues.
  • Carries out all preventive and corrective maintenance works and attends all callouts.
  • Detailed failure analysis activities, including investigation / reporting / resolution
  • Spare parts recommendations to management for different service levels or periodic service intervals
  • Makes sure to submit service reports and non-conformance reports as required without delay.
  • Customer skills : Daily interface with operators, technicians and BHS managers on equipment status issues.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements of the company and at customer’s site.
  • Formulate and close a technical Incident Report.
  • Responsible for distributing information to team members and request permission from stakeholders to complete planned work.
  • Attend technical meetings upon request.
  • Reports to Service Manager.
  • Completes all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines.
  • Documents all maintenance and repair work submitting paperwork in required time frame.
  • Maintain a safe / clean work environment and ensure company safety procedures and product workmanship procedures are adhered to.

Qualifications

  • Proven years of experience in field service environment, x-ray industry.
  • Expert Knowledge of X-ray systems (RTT / ETD / BPI)
  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and oral ability. Able to clearly articulate both the Product and Process to any Customer or Programme Stakeholder.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MS Windows based servers and workstations highly desirable.
  • Excellent ability to trouble-shoot complex systems and logically work through problems.
  • Flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments promptly and efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively at short notice and stay for extended periods (up to one month) as and when required.
  • BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Expert general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronics or complex electro-mechanical equipment or systems. Or knowledge of HV Systems i.e. Medical or Industrial engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (DVM) and experience with high voltage and x-ray producing equipment preferred.
  • Flexible schedule based on locations’ contractual operational; non-standard hours including on-call, weekends and holidays required.
