Job Description
Suez Canal Container terminal (“SCCT”) is operating a container terminal in Egypt and is a Joint-Venture with APM Terminals as the majority shareholder (55%) and operator of the terminal, Cosco (20%), Suez Canal Authority (10.3%), National Bank of Egypt (5%) and Egyptian private sector (9.7%). We want to be recognized by our customers as their most reliable, efficient and cost-effective transshipment terminal in the Mediterranean and Egypt’s gateway to international trade to contribute to the overall Egyptian economy. Position Purpose :
This role combines strategic vision with a hands-on approach and requires a high level of independence, self-reliance, and the ability to quickly connect the dots to influence decision making. As a Sr. Finance Business Partner, you will :
Build strategic expertise : Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and aligning financial strategies with organizational objectives.
Demonstrate Leadership : Act as a key advisor to the business and other stakeholders to influence critical business outcomes.
Develop Financial acumen : Champion advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting skills while managing operational and financial key performance indicators.
Strengthen stakeholder relationships : Work with many stakeholders and business leaders, building strong relationship and credibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Business Partnering : Collaborate with operational teams to monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.Act as a financial advisor, providing recommendations based on data-driven insights to optimize business operations.Liaise between finance and non-finance departments to ensure alignment on strategic goals.Actively participate in the relevant Finance Business Partnering community to learn & share best-practices as needed.
- Financial Planning & Analysis : Drive the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.Analyze financial data, including revenue, operating costs, and profitability, to provide actionable insights to the business planning process.
- Investment analysis
- Develop, evaluate and present investment proposals in collaboration with cross-functional teams to get timely approvals from HQ. Monitor total project portfolio with status-updates to senior management.
- Prepare financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions.
- Budget Control & Compliance : Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.Support in financial audits and address any compliance-related issues.
- Performance Monitoring : Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to senior management, shareholders and HQ.Track and analyze key operational and financial metrics such as revenue / cost per move, port hours stay, DSO, NWC, quick ratio.Identify variances and develop plans to address performance deviations.Champion cost control initiatives and take measures to deliver on target.
- Process Improvement : Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.Implement best practices in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.
- A degree in Finance and Accounting and / or in Controlling, preferably as MBA / M.Sc. / ACCA or similar degree, with strong knowledge in Finance and application of IFRS from reporting to valuation.
- 12+ years in Finance in an international matrix organization.
- Actively participates in the relevant Finance Business Partnering community to learn & share best-practices as needed.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Excellent command of English language both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills due to high cross functional interaction required by the role.
- A mindset of continuous improvement (Kaizen Lean management) and a ‘can do’ approach.
