Job Overview
The British Council enjoys a strong reputation in Egypt as the leading provider of English language courses. Egypt plays a major role in the British Council’s English Language Teaching (ELT) work across the whole Arabic-speaking region. There are excellent opportunities for further development in various directions. The centers run CELTA, distance DELTA, TYLEC, and various management and general training courses. There is sponsorship available on most courses for suitable candidates. For more experienced teachers there is a supported environment to enter into teacher training and coordinator opportunities. A mix of adult and young learner courses are taught in all the branches. All full-time teachers are expected to teach both adults and young learners as part of their teaching hours which may require them to teach over the weekend and on Saturday evening.
