About the job

The role involves overseeing the electrical engineering aspects of various projects from tendering to construction. Key responsibilities include reviewing client tender documents, identifying deviations, and preparing technical queries. The individual will design comprehensive electrical systems, conduct detailed calculations, and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with other engineering groups. They will manage material take-offs, review suppliers’ submissions, and coordinate procurement processes. Additionally, the position requires regular site visits to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions, as well as documenting lessons learned and preparing As-Built drawings. The individual will also report on progress and technical issues to management and remain updated on industry trends for continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

General Responsibilities :

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in electrical engineering.

Report activities and technical issues to the manager.

Tendering Stage :

Review tender documents and identify deviations from standards.

Prepare queries for unclear technical matters and suggest design improvements.

Create Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and preliminary designs.

Review suppliers' technical documents.

Design Stage :

Design complete electrical systems with necessary calculations.

Follow up on design approvals and respond to client queries.

Collaborate with other groups for optimal design solutions.

Conduct value engineering studies for cost reduction.

Materials Control :

Prepare Material Take Offs (MTO) and review suppliers’ material submittals.

Coordinate with procurement for finalizing purchase orders.

Site / Construction Stage :

Conduct site visits to identify potential issues.

Analyze and provide corrective actions for site problems.

Document lessons learned and prepare As-Built drawings.

Desired Education and Experience

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Masters / MBA or PMP is a plus.

Experience :

5+ years’ experience in power supply design, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Good knowledge of REVIT & AutoCAD.

Good familiarity with electric system modeling software

Fundamental BIM knowledge is highly preferred.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Language Requirements :

Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
