Ensure stable and reliable Operation for Storage and Backup
Day-to-day performance monitoring.
Manages Systems High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
Maintain, configure, upgrade Active-Active SAN infrastructure.
Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup solution; monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective actions.
Perform daily Storage operational tasks, LUN / Space provisioning, monitoring, troubleshoot issues (e.g. latency, etc.), and initiate corrective actions.
Complete routine tasks and troubleshoot the storage & backup infrastructure under support.
Perform problem management and incident correlation on re-occurring issues; suggest and document workarounds & solutions.
Create and provide reports for backup and storage environments and related activities and tasks.
Create and update documentation for storage and backup environents.
Requirements
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience working with storage and backup systems, along with expertise in data protection across multiple redundant data centers.
Proficiency in backup software technologies, with a preference for Veritas NetBackup and / or EMC NW, as well as familiarity with RP4VM, AVAMAR, CRS, or PPDM.
Experience with storage hardware technologies, such as EMC PowerMax and PowerStore.
Knowledge of SAN fabric technologies, ideally Brocade or Cisco MDS.
Familiarity with Brocade SAN switches.
Understanding of iSCSI and Fiber Channel infrastructure.
Experience in comprehensive backup and storage design, including associated challenges.
