Gems International School - Soma Bay is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable English Social Studies Teacher for the academic year 2026-2027 at our esteemed GEMS International School Cairo. This role focuses on delivering a dynamic Social Studies curriculum in English, aiming to develop students' understanding of history, geography, civics, and cultural awareness through engaging lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver comprehensive Social Studies lessons in English, tailored to the appropriate grade levels.
• Use varied instructional strategies to engage students and promote critical thinking and active learning.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic achievement and personal growth.
• Incorporate current events and global perspectives to enrich the curriculum and foster awareness.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum content and share best practices.
• Support extracurricular activities related to Social Studies, such as history clubs or cultural events.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with parents and school administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Education, History, Geography, or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Social Studies in English at the relevant educational level.
• Strong knowledge of Social Studies curriculum standards and pedagogical techniques.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to engage with social, historical, and cultural topics.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.
• Teaching certification or relevant qualifications preferred.
