Assistant Manager – Social Media

Department: Marketing & Communications
Reports to: Director / Manager of Marketing & Communications

Job Purpose

To support the hotel’s marketing and communication objectives by managing social media platforms, creating engaging content, executing digital campaigns, and strengthening the hotel’s online presence. The role focuses on increasing brand awareness, engagement, website traffic, and revenue opportunities while ensuring compliance with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the hotel’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
* Develop and implement monthly social media content calendars in line with the hotel’s marketing plan.
* Create engaging content, including posts, Stories, Reels, videos, and promotional campaigns.
* Write creative and brand-appropriate captions and social media copy.
* Coordinate photography and video shoots to ensure a continuous supply of high-quality content.
* Schedule, publish, and monitor social media content across all platforms.
* Manage comments, messages, mentions, and guest interactions in a timely and professional manner.
* Support the planning and execution of paid social media campaigns and boosted posts.
* Monitor advertising budgets and optimize campaigns based on performance.
* Track key performance indicators, including reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, video views, website traffic, leads, and conversions.
* Prepare regular social media performance reports and recommend actions to improve results.
* Monitor competitors, market trends, and new social media developments to identify opportunities.
* Coordinate influencer and content creator collaborations, including selection, communication, visits, deliverables, and performance evaluation.
* Support the promotion of rooms, restaurants, spa, weddings, meetings and events, seasonal offers, and other hotel experiences.
* Work closely with Sales, Revenue, Food & Beverage, Events, and other departments to develop relevant promotional content.
* Support hotel events and activities with real-time social media coverage when required.
* Ensure all published content follows corporate brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual identity.
* Maintain and organize the hotel’s digital content and social media asset library.
* Monitor the hotel’s online reputation and escalate sensitive comments or potential issues when necessary.
* Stay updated on social media trends, platform updates, digital marketing practices, and emerging content formats.
* Support the Marketing & Communications team with other digital marketing and communication activities as required.

Key Responsibilities as Assistant Manager

* Support the Marketing & Communications Manager/Director in implementing the overall digital and social media strategy.
* Coordinate social media activities across departments and ensure deadlines are met.
* Guide junior team members, trainees, or external agencies when applicable.
* Ensure the quality and accuracy of social media content before publication.
* Assist in managing social media budgets and preparing campaign performance evaluations.
* Take responsibility for social media operations in the absence of the direct manager when required.

Qualifications

Qualifications – Assistant Manager, Social Media

* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Media, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or marketing communications, preferably within hospitality or tourism.
* Proven experience managing Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other relevant social media platforms.
* Good knowledge of Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager, including paid campaigns, targeting, and performance monitoring.
* Strong understanding of content creation, Reels, Stories, short-form video, and current social media trends.
* Experience in developing content calendars and social media campaigns.
* Good knowledge of social media analytics, KPIs, and performance reporting.
* Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
* Strong copywriting and communication skills.
* Basic knowledge of photography, videography, and content editing.
* Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools is an advantage.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Creative, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
* Good understanding of hospitality marketing and guest experience is preferred.
* Previous experience with an international hotel or hospitality brand is an advantage.
