Job Description

Position Overview

The Design Manager is responsible for managing all design activities related to Development Package, ensuring coordinated, compliant, and timely delivery of design outputs aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all design activities from concept through IFC.
  
• Manage and coordinate all design consultants within the package.
  
• Ensure multidisciplinary coordination (Arch, Civil, MEP, Landscape).
  
• Review and consolidate design submissions prior to PMC approval.
  
• Monitor design progress against schedule and milestones.
  
• Support authority approvals and ensure compliance.
  
• Manage design risks, issues, and change control.
  
• Coordinate with other Development Packages to ensure proper interface management.
  
• Ensure alignment with masterplan, infrastructure strategies, and project-wide standards.
  
• Identify and resolve design clashes and inconsistencies across disciplines.
  
• Maintain design logs, including design changes, RFIs, and technical queries.
  
• Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and technical discussions.
  
• Ensure design deliverables meet quality standards and minimize rework.
  
• Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization efforts.
  
• Ensure proper documentation control and version management of all design submissions.
  
• Liaise with construction teams to ensure design constructability and practicality.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  
• 10–15 years of experience in design and engineering roles.
  
• Minimum 5 years in a design management position.
  
• Experience in large-scale developments (Residential / Mixed-use / Infrastructure).
  
• Experience working within PMC or consultancy environment.
  
• Strong understanding of full design lifecycle (Concept to IFC).
  
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination.
  
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes.
  
• Proficiency in design and coordination tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks preferred).
