Material Planner

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and maintain material requirement plans based on production schedules and sales forecasts.

Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials (fabrics, trims, accessories, etc.).

Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment as needed to avoid material shortages or excess stock.

Issue purchase requisitions for required materials in line with production timelines.

Analyze supplier performance and lead times to optimize procurement schedules.

Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to understand material specifications and usage.

Track material usage during production and update system records to maintain accurate stock levels.

Maintain material planning reports and dashboards for internal reviews.

Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying material waste or overstock risks.

Ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery requirements for all materials.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

3–4 years of experience as a Material Planner, preferably in a garment or textile manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of clothing production processes and material consumption cycles.

Familiarity with fabric types, trims, and garment accessories.

Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.
