Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission components. Proven experience maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.). Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals. Skilled in using precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools). Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance best practices (OSHA, LOTO, confined space entry). We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Elsewedy Engineering Industries . The ideal candidate will have solid experience in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and power transmission components . You will ensure equipment reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance, perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures, and apply best practices to improve machine performance and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all mechanical systems and equipment in the facility.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, repairs, and overhauls to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Support root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations and other engineering disciplines to enhance equipment efficiency and lifespan.
