Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Windchill Consultant to support our PLM strategy and digital engineering initiatives within the automotive sector . This role is critical to ensuring end-to-end visibility, traceability, and efficiency across product development cycles. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PTC Windchill and hands-on experience in configuring PLM systems aligned with automotive design, engineering change management, compliance, and manufacturing processes .
Key Responsibilities :
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to gather PLM requirements and design scalable Windchill solutions tailored for the automotive lifecycle.
- Configure and administer Windchill PDMLink modules, focusing on part structures, BOM management, configuration control, and change management (ECR / ECN).
- Integrate Windchill with CAD systems (e.g., Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks) and enterprise applications such as ERP (e.g., SAP) and MES.
- Lead Windchill implementation, version upgrades, and data migration projects in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Develop workflows for automotive-specific needs such as PPAP, APQP, and engineering release processes.
- Establish access controls, lifecycles, versioning rules, and automated notifications to support quality, compliance, and traceability.
- Support product development initiatives, regulatory requirements and digital thread / data continuity efforts.
- Provide technical support, end-user training, and ongoing PLM system improvements to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.
- Document system configurations, SOPs, and user guides following automotive documentation standards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.4+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill in the automotive industry or a high-volume manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of automotive design and production processes, including BOM structures, engineering change control, and regulatory compliance.Experience with CAD integration (preferably Creo, CATIA, or NX) and multi-CAD environments.Familiarity with ERP-PLM integration workflows (SAP preferred).Proficiency in Windchill Business Administration, Workflow customization, and InfoEngine configurations.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced automotive product development cycle.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with PTC ThingWorx or Navigate in a digital manufacturing / Industry 4.0 context.Knowledge of automotive standards and frameworks such as IATF 16949, ISO 26262 (functional safety), and PPAP / APQP documentation workflows.Java, XML, or scripting experience for advanced customization.PTC certifications in Windchill modules.Tools & Environment :
